His Favorite Manga Review (Yaoi)

Demographic: Yaoi
Age: Teen+

Summary-His Favorite by Suzuki Tanaka is the story of the confusing and sometimes torrential relationship between the most popular boy in school and the ugliest boy in school. Yaoi Yoshida has wild almond shaped eyes, a scar on his face, and looks as if to have stuck his finger in a light socket. But that doesn’t stop the abnormal amounts of attention popular, handsome Satou displays for him.  Yoshida can’t help but wonder, why does Satou give him so much attention when any of the most beautiful girls in school would drop dead to be with him? Alos, is Yoshida becoming okay with it?!

Story Line – This story has a good pace to it, delving in and out between a light hearted comedy and a deeper storyline.  The budding relationship between Satou and Yoshida isn’t simple and both boys’ personalities become amplified as their relationship becomes more serious.

Art – The characters are super expressive and there is a clear distinction between the attractive Satou and the crazy looking Yoshida.  Even though the backgrounds are rather simple (sometimes blank), every frame serves its purpose.

Overall-  This is a good yaoi for beginners in the genre.  It’s a story that easily transcends the genders of the two protagonists.  It’s about looking beyond someone’s outward appearance and using the content of someone’s character as a determinant factor in a relationship (be it good qualities or crazy ones).
