The Pet Girl of Sakurasou is about a high school guy named Sorata who lives in the “weird” dorm. He only has one goal and that is to get out of the weird dorm and be normal. That all changes when a new student moves into the dorm.
Sorata lives in the “weird” dorms due to an incident that he took the blame for, his schools punishment was to place him there. He seems to be well liked at school and can’t say “no” to abandoned cats looking for a home. His teacher asks him to pick up her cousin (Mashiro) at the train station, and when he sees Mashiro, he instantly falls for her. Mashiro is quiet, beautiful and aloof.
You know, at first, I wasn’t sure if I really liked the first episode of this anime. Mashiro is a classic manic pixie dream girl (beautiful, weird, wonderful artistic skills), but as the days went by and I let the episode settle, I wanted to watch more. I can tell there is some sort of “deep” underlying story to a couple of these characters, but there is also a lot of humor/randomness happening. When you finish the episode, you are left wanting more. I recommend this anime.
